Helene Fruhwirth
haibike hero

Haibike is happy to welcome Helene Fruhwirth to our team!

2013 Helene more or less coincidentally made the acquaintance of destiny: After a heavy crash doctors discovered a huge, yet undiscovered brain cavernoma which the 35-year old barely survived. To give up was never an option for Helene. „What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger “, she said to herself and never looked back. „Afterwards I felt like Miss Unbreakable”, she jokes. After this, she won the Overall World Cup in 4X two times and celebrated a lot of 4X Pro Tour victories. In 2017, she won bronze medal in the 4X World Championships.

Helene Fruhwirth // Downhill racer
‚‚Biking is so much more than riding to work on the street. It takes you to places most of us only know from nature documentaries. And by eBike it is completely different and opens so many new opportunities. For me it means a lot more descents as I am at the top again very quickly with a huge smile!”, Helene Fruhwirth says. From 2019, Helene is going to take part in Haibike events and training camps, give courses and pass on her skills to other bikers as a coach. She will represent the brand on social media and her homepage.

„Downhill racing is a big part of my life, but I also love to bring other people closer to biking and convey riding technique. I would like to show especially to women that anything is possible in this male-dominated type of sport. Female self-reliance is the trick, whether with technique or simple courage”, she adds.

Meet the other Haibike heroes

Haibike Hero Max Semsch

Maximilian Semsch

After graduating from school, he just got on his bike and rode from Munich to Singapore. Without training, without major preparations. His second tour took him to Australia, or, more precisely, around it. This is the longest eBike tour to this date, measuring 16.000 km.

Haibike Hero Andi Wittmann

Andi Wittmann

He is one of the world's best dirt bikers, holds the world record for the highest natural hip jump, organises bike events and is so fit that he wants to take parts in enduro races. Following a horrific crash, his feet and his sporting career looked to have been completely destroyed. During his tenacious fight to get back on a bike, he discovered eBikes, which he had been heavily critical of in the past.
