A FAMILY STORY
Pyrenean, in his thirties, Victor Delerue developed a passion for snowboarding from an early age. The youngest of the family, he climbs on his first board to try to follow in the footsteps of his four brothers and sisters, and has never come back down: this sport has become his life!
Very quickly, he began freestyle in the snow park, then the desire to get off the slopes arrived, it was the start of the backcountry (off-piste). Victor has been speaking in front of the cameras for 10 years now, bursting the screen on ever steeper slopes.
"THE NATURAL EVOLUTION FOR ME WAS TO DISCOVER FREERIDE, THEN THE STEEP SLOPE"
At the same time, he tried his hand at competing on the Freeride World Tour. In 2019, he won the title of World Champion for his first participation and did it again the following year by finishing second.
Each year that passes makes Victor more and more in love with the mountains, these outdoor activities and the adrenaline they provide.
He spends his summers in the air under a paraglider sail, hanging on the end of a rope in the middle of a climbing cliff, most of the time, with the passion to share beautiful images. He particularly likes to combine several activities during the same outing. For example, in winter, his winning “combo” would be: abseiling a freeride line, riding, then escaping to reach the valley by paraglider.
ELECTRIC MOUNTAIN BIKING: COMPLETELY CRAZY POSSIBILITIES
It is with this multisport vision that the electric mountain bike allows him to discover a new world.
In winter, when the snow conditions are not optimal, access to lines and remote areas becomes very fast. In summer, the eMTB is widely used to go on a climbing and paragliding "mission" on spots where the approach would take long hours. And of course, the descent becomes much more fun on an e-bike than on foot.
Meet the other
They are the heroes of a new era. Special people with special stories, outstanding, courageous and inspirational. People who dared to take a chance at an early stage, to devote themselves to a new sport at a time when many people didn’t even recognise it as such: our Haibike Heroes.
